At least I think it’s a cormorant. It’s got the beak of one. Cormorants are usually all black, though, so maybe it’s a juvenile. Can anyone clarify?
The Husband and I found this guy on the beach at the Outer Banks in October 2007. He was just sitting there like he owned the beach. All I know is that I wouldn’t want to be pecked by that beak.
This is a Gannet and since they do not come ashore it is probably in some state of distress.
