Art abandonment. Sounds sad, but it’s actually a good thing!
I discovered a piece of abandoned art myself last month, and it lead me to a website and Facebook group simply called Art Abandonment. The concept is to create a piece of art, and leave it with a note in a random place. I did that for the first time today. You can see what I left in a ladies’ room above. (Don’t worry, it’s tacked to a bulletin board.)
Since I’ve been doing these tangle art drawings, I thought it would be fun to try this art abandonment thing myself. I did this drawing on yellow card stock, and added one of the notes Art Abandonment has on the Facebook page that you can download and add. It’s got all the info on it, and I added my e-mail, just to see if someone got it, if they even both to even e-mail me. If not, that’s ok.
I’ll let you know how it goes if I get a response or not. This is sort of exciting to know that someone out there is going to get some my funky art.
Here’s the piece without the note and bag.
