Blue Mandelbrot

Blue Mandelbrot by Jenn Dixon, 2009

Hmmm, maybe it’s more purple, I don’t know. What do you think? I like this fractal but it’s not exactly what I intended it to be. I mean, it still looks cool and such, but for the time it took render, I was expecting more. Oh, well. Back to the drawing board.

Pink and Teal

Teal and Pink by Jenn Dixon, 2009

I know, I know…. generic title. I haven’t posted this one anywhere else, but I thought it would be a lovely addition here. Sometimes it’s nice to have “blog exclusives.” I also thought it’s nice and calming and I need nice and calming right now.

I made this one in Ultra Fractal 5.02 and really tried to feature the spiral and the layered/bladed edges at the bottom. It was a challenge to get them all framed the way I wanted.

Dreieck by Jenn Dixon, 2005

That’s German for “triangle,” for all you non-German speakers! I just posted this one today because my husband likes it and I do, too. Made in Vchira a long time ago.

Makes Your Eyes Hurt, Doesn’t It?

Something Fun in Fractal Explorer, Jenn Dixon 2009

I haven’t put a fractal or anything artsy up in a while, except for photography, which as I have stated in earlier post that is what I am leaning towards, but fractals still can be fun. This funky number was made from a tweak of another person’ s parameters. I had fun zooming in and getting the gooey bright colors.

A Little Miffed, but I’m Over It.

This morning I went to check my deviantART messages and found a note by a fellow deviant that he had seen one of my fractal had been posted on another web site without my permission. I went to investigate, and sure enough, I found one of my fractals right there, which would be the one above.

I thanked the person alerting me, because I do like to give my permission before another person posts one of fractals or photos. (Just because it’s on the Internet, doesn’t mean it’s not copyrighted.) I did notice that the writer of the blogpost that used the fractal did link it back to dA and gave me under my username, Jennabee25, credit. I did leave a message stating that I would like to be contacted next time, but he can keep it up for now.

So, that’s how I started off miffed, but I’m ok now since I made my feelings known and have given my permission for the use of the fractal in his post. Since it’s linked back, I’ve been getting some traffic to my dA site, I will relent.

I do have to give this blogger credit for his taste in fractals. Check out the site here. I do caution the writer…..please PLEASE get permission first. I know a lot of those fractal artists on dA and they probably won’t be as forgiving as I am.

Apophysis Tweak

RR3 2-2 Pong by Jenn Dixon, 2009

Sorry about the weird name, but this is what I had to name it for another Fractal Round Robin on deviantART. (The link is a flashback to a previous post explaining a fractal round robin.)

My partner on dA, uncubitodehielo88, had to trade parameters and from a starter we were given and tweak the other’s parameters. It was fun. I learned a lot from him, too. I am proud to say that I added a lot of my own touches to this one and made it my own, as uncubitodehielo88 made the parameters I gave him his own.

I believe that is the point of a tweaking, eh?

Sorry about the two day hiatus….

Sterling2 Fractal by Jenn Dixon, 2009

I had this one sitting around for a while and figured it was a good time to post it.

Sorry about not posting for two days. I was 1. Really super-busy with work. and 2. Really sick. I’m much better now and hope to get back into the swing of things here.

I hope to get some nice animal shots at the Reading Pet Expo tomorrow where I will be volunteering for an anti-puppy mill organization. I’m really looking forward to it!
